Resonate Ships Latest Version of Resonate Central Dispatch for Linux
Resonate Delivers Robust High Availability Platform for Linux for the Enterprise

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 18, 2002 — Resonate Inc. (NASDAQ: RSNT), the leading provider of award winning service level management solutions, today announced that it is shipping the latest version of Resonate Central Dispatch™ with Linux support. Resonate Central Dispatch, an intelligent LAN-based software traffic management product, is now available with Red Hat Linux 7.2 support. With this announcement, Resonate is delivering a robust high volume and high availability platform for Linux for the enterprise. Resonate has also announced that long-time customer, E*TRADE Group, Inc. (NYSE: ET), is expanding its commitment to Resonate to provide high availability and optimum performance for the E*TRADE Web site. E*TRADE has relied on Resonate software traffic management products to enable investors to complete online transactions since 1998. E*TRADE is now extending their use of Resonate software on the Linux platform.

Resonate Central Dispatch software provides high availability and optimal performance for online services, ensuring a positive end-user experience. Managing all requests at the Web and application tier, Resonate Central Dispatch allows multiple Linux servers to act as a single, scalable, reliable, and easily managed Internet server system. Distributed software agents collect fine-grained detail such as CPU load and memory utilization from Linux servers to determine server health. Based on the data collected from the agents, Resonate Central Dispatch software can take real-time, intelligent action, routing traffic requests to ensure maximum availability and performance.

Resonate Central Dispatch software provides the added capability to schedule traffic based on any TCP-based or IP-based protocols, including Web Services such as SOAP, XML, WAP gateways, etc. Unlike closed traffic management hardware devices, Resonate Central Dispatch is able to examine any piece of data in an end-user's Internet request, providing user-specific and application-specific information. The Resonate Central Dispatch product allows enterprises to direct traffic based on who the user is, what application they are trying to access and by what medium they are accessing that information. Resonate Central Dispatch also intelligently distributes traffic across multiple firewall, cache, or similar network appliances. Resonate Central Dispatch software supports traffic scheduling of all Web protocols including streaming media, voice-over-IP, DNS and proprietary protocols.
